Miguel Confirms He Has a Spanish Album on the Way

The "Sky Walker" singer is diving deeper into his Mexican roots.

After creating the heartwarming single "Remember Me" for the Pixar film Coco, Miguel announced that he'll be diving further into his Mexican roots by producing a full album in Spanish.

Miguel confirmed the news with The Cruz Show on Saturday during Power 106’s annual PowerHouse concert.

As Rap-Up points out, Miguel expressed interest in doing a project en Español back in 2012. “I want to be able to write an entire song in Spanish, but I’m practicing my Spanish now just so I can get it,” he told Power 106 at the time. “Songs in Spanish are so poetic. I think that’s one of my favorite things about Latino music, and the rhyme scheme is completely different. So I’m really nervous to do it, I don’t want it to be bad, but I’m really excited to do it.”

Back in 2017, he told Latina that acting in Live by Night inspired him to make the album. “Writing songs in Spanish is one of the things I started exploring after working on this film,” he said. “I look forward to working on more music in Spanish. It sounds ambitious, but I’m looking to release an album in Spanish later on this year. If nothing else, at least releasing a single or two in Spanish. Hopefully, you guys stay tuned to that.”

After releasing his new album War & Leisurein December, he dropped a Spanish version of his hit single, “Sky Walker.”
