Hot 97 Adds Meek Mill to Summer Jam and Donates $10,000 to Justice League NYC

Meek joins previously announced performers Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, and ASAP Ferg.

As teased Wednesday night, Hot 97 has made a major update to this year's Summer Jam lineup.

Meek Mill join Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, ASAP Ferg, Remy Ma, Rich the Kid, and more at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey June 10. "We are happy to welcome our man Meek Mill is to the Summer Jam stage," Hot 97 personality and assistant program director Ebro Darden said in a statement Thursday. "He has been through hell and what he needs is mad love and our continued support."

"Can we land a chopper at MetLife Stadium?" Meek told Darden on the air. "I can't miss Summer Jam."

Hot 97 is also donating $10,000 to the Justice League NYC, a "task force" of the Gathering for Justice. Justice League NYC was integral in securing Meek's release from prison last month. The Justice League's continued aim is to establish collaborations with the NYC Comptroller's office as part of its larger goal of achieving true criminal justice reform.

Speaking on his widely condemned sentence and ultimate release with the Breakfast Club team last week, Meek said his new music will reflect his "anger" with a broken system. "I just been getting hungry and building my hunger up so when I go into the studio, I lay 20, 30 songs down in two weeks," he said. "It ain't gonna be long before I start going off."
