Toronto artist MorMor had one of our favorite debuts of the year with "Heaven's Only Wishful," a song that has been in heavy rotation for months now. Telling us about his influences back in February, MorMor said that it started with Nirvana and The Beatles but that he's gone through phases that included Motown, Feist, and Wu-Tang.
Today, MorMor follows up his debut with a second song and video. "Whatever Comes to Mind" opens up with some familiar elements—dreamy guitar, crisp drums, and a sparse arrangement—but it swells into a soulful slow-burner. Given his eclectic taste in music, it's a safe bet that MorMor's range will come into focus with each song he puts out. For now, he's two for two and one of the most exciting new artists on our radar.
