21 Savage Is 'Going Back Gangsta' on His Next Album

21 also talks Mars, fame, and Amber Rose in the new interview.

21 Savage's next album will see the Billboard-owning Post Malone collaborator "going back gangsta."

Speaking with XXL for his cover story interview Monday, 21 outlined his Issa Album follow-up plans. According to 21, this next chapter will be all about a return to what brought him in the door. "All that other music be cool," he said. "I don't be knowing what the fans want 'cause it be like...they want, like, the 'Bank Account' music, but I don't know. I wanna get back on some gangsta shit 'cause I feel like everybody rap about money and cars. Like they say I rap about too much guns and shit, but that's what the hell be going on. That's what really be going on, like, in real life."

21 added that not everyone has the luxury of owning, say, a Bentley and that should be represented in his music. "Like being they voice 'cause the rest of America don't hear them type [of ] people," he said. "It's very few people who can speak for them. So, that's what I wanna go back to." 21's "wishlist" for guest features on the new album includes Rihanna, SZA, Beyoncé, and Pharrell.

As much as it deeply disturbs me to write this, I have been instructed to also note that Tomi Lahren's Instagrammed lip-syncing of "Bank Account" is mentioned in the interview. According to writer Georgette Cline, 21 didn't have much to say about that. Furthermore, he comes across in the interview as fairly indifferent to politics at large. Lahren, however, still had something to say 😑:

My advice is to ignore all of that and just focus on the rest of the 21 interview instead. After all, he also talks about going to Mars and the inherent difficulties of fame. Catch the filmed portions of the chat in full below.
