Fifth Harmony devastated their fans on Monday when the group announced they'll be taking an indefinite hiatus to focus on solo work.

“Reflecting on the past six years since we started on X-Factor, we’ve realized just how far we’ve come and we appreciate everything so much, more now than ever,” Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui wrote in a letter to fans on social media. “We’ve really had one hell of a memorable journey together and can’t begin to express our gratitude to y’all for coming along with us on this wild ride!”

Fifth Harmony's hiatus follows the December 2016 departure of Camila Cabello, who released her solo debut album earlier this year. Rumors that the group would be parting ways began circulating after Normani signed a solo deal last October.

“After six years going hard, non stop, we also realized that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavors,” they wrote in their announcement.

The group was founded during the second season of The X Factor in 2012. Since then they've put out three studio albums.

Fans online are posting about their favorite Fifth Harmony memories, thanking the group, and mourning the decision. Meanwhile others are taking the opportunity to make jokes about Camila, who said in an interview in January that she left the group after being forced to decide between them and her solo work. The four remaining members may not be breaking up for good, but there’s no telling how long this hiatus could be.
