Fetty Wap was clearly in a generous mood this week.

On Tuesday, the “Trap Queen” rapper returned to his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey, where he teamed up with Price Rite for a gift card giveaway. NorthJersey.com reports hundreds of people lined up outside of the store with the hopes of meeting Fetty and to receive some extra funds for their upcoming Easter dinners.

“Anything I can do to help especially with my hometown I’m going to always be there,” said Fetty, who also recalled his days of living on food stamps. “Coming from not having anything to being able to do a lot more than what I did growing up, to be able to live a different lifestyle, it kind of really empowered me to help as many people as I could.”

The rapper was all smiles during the giveaway event, as he handed out the cards, shook hands, and posed for photos alongside Paterson's visibly grateful residents.

“We’re very excited to have somebody who loves the city as much as us come into the store and want to give back,” said Marie Sweeney-Tevis, the director of marketing and community relations for Inserra Supermarkets. “That’s really great.”

This isn’t the first time Fetty has shown love to the city that raised him. Every year since 2015, the 26-year-old artist has donated hundreds of Thanksgiving turkeys to Paterson residents. In 2017, he reportedly donated 500 of them, about 200 more than the prior year, according to NorthJersey.com.

Had a great time helping running Fetty Wap turkey drive tonight. We feed over 200 families what a great success. #1Paterson pic.twitter.com/BE1bGW1C2B
