Since placing her in our ones-to-watch list at the top of the year, singer-songwriter Liv Dawson has had a pretty busy twelve months. The Method Records-signed vocalist has seen streaming figures, across Spotify and YouTube, hit the region of 30 million—most of which belongs to the HONNE-produced "Painkiller"—as well as securing studio time with the likes of Disclosure, and Jimmy Napes. Remaining in the electronic sphere for new offering "Hush", Dawson—whose vocals flit between breezy pop and powerhouse R&B—takes on a grime-licked beat and spins it like any of your favourite R&G queens.

In an email to Complex, Liv shared some background on the song:

“I wrote 'Hush' with my long term friend and collaborator Jimmy Napes, who also produced it. He's been busy most of this year with Sam Smith so we’ve not worked together much recently, but we managed to get a day in the studio together a few weeks ago and came up with 'Hush' straight away. It's such a great vibe and leans on my love for R&B, especially the vocals hooks, and lyrically it's about a moment between two people, when you come together but want to keep it on the down low, and that feeling of having a secret together."
