Miguel’s “Sky Walker” is a hypnotizing single that sounds great but needs to be seen live to get the full artistic effect. Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s audience was treated to just that on Tuesday when the singer brought along Travis Scott for a performance of the lead single from Miguel’s new album War & Leisure.

Clad in a camouflage vest and slacks, Miguel coolly waltzed around the stage for the duration of the song. He was all smiles as he switched between low stoops, slow-mo movements, and energetic jumps while the stage’s bright lights flickered for full artistic effect. The crowd erupted as Scott ran onstage and delivered his Auto-Tune verse. He was just as energetic as Miguel, sticking around to gift his ad-libs to the singer’s magnetic conclusion.

It lacked the over-the-top flair of a traditional concert performance, but what transpired instead was more intimate, relaxing, and ultimately, more soothing.

Miguel’s fourth studio album, War and Leisure, came out on December 1 to positive reception, with reviewers praising his evolution as a writer. “Sky Walker” currently sits at No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100, up three spots from last week. If it continues to grow at this pace, and the album continues to impress its listeners, the 32-year-old musician will be skywalking indeed.
