It's been little more than a month since London-based singer Lyves shared her arresting "Holding Back" single, but she's already back with a new single. "Cover Me" continues down the road of expansive, heart-wrenching R&B previously explored on past singles like "Darkest Hour" and "Holding Back". This time round the singer explores the struggle of a new relationship and the balance between stability and independence. Where previous drops have seen Lyves let her voice soar over minimal acoustic arrangements, "Cover Me" sees the singer co-produce the track with Will Night to explore a slightly more electronic sound. Still, Lyves' voice is still very much the star of the show and the electronics do nothing to take away from the simultaneously heartbreaking and powerful tone to her voice.
Premiere: Lyves Adds An Electronic Edge To Her Powerful Minimalism On "Cover Me"
Her less-is-more approach is still as powerful as ever.
