The First Week Numbers for Macklemore and Jhené Aiko's New Albums Are In

Macklemore's 'Gemini' took the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200.

The numbers are in. Macklemore's second solo studio album Gemini, which dropped on Sept. 22, has made it to the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 chartGemini moved 51,000 units with 27,000 of those being traditional album sales. The sixteen track album features Lil Yachty​, Offset, Skylar Grey​, Kesha​, and others. 

The Killers' fifth studio album Wonderful Wonderful, which was also released on Sept. 22, took the No. 1 spot with 118,000 equivalent album units.

A bit further down the list Kevin Gates' By Any Means 2 jumped from No. 100 to No. 4. Jhené Aiko's Trip took the No. 5 spot with 37,000 units with 10,000 in traditional album sales. Trip boasted features from Big Sean, Swae Lee, Kurupt, Brandy, and others. 

Earlier in the day, Macklemore performed at the National Rugby League Grand Final Sunday in Australia at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney. Macklemore decided to take a political stance, performing his LGBTQ rights anthem "Same Love" with Mary Lambert. The country is in the middle of voting on whether to give same-sex couples the right to marry.
