Sunday’s Made in America line-up included a performance by G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T, where he gave fans another update regarding his third solo album, King Push.
Before performing “Crutches, Crosses, Caskets,” he confirmed that King Push is produced top to bottom by Kanye West.
“I had done this album like three times,” he says. “[Kanye] comes in and he picks all the beats and shit. And then, he hear the beats, and he scraps ‘em and says ‘I can do better.’”
“He had done that shit like three times." he adds. "So these past two months, we have just been locking in day for day, night for night, getting this album perfect for y’all.” You can watch a clip below.
Pusha didn’t give us a release date yet, but he was quite confident in his material so far. “If it drops this year, Album of the Year,” he says. “If it drops next year, Album of the Year.”
In June, Pusha told Complex that King Push was 85 percent complete and that it was mostly produced by Kanye. If ‘Ye is holding down production duties (he was the one who suggested they work in Utah), we wonder what will happen to songs that The Neptunes produced for Pusha? Hopefully, they’ll get added on as bonus tracks.
The singles from King Push are “Drug Dealers Anonymous” featuring Jay Z, “H.G.T.V.,” and “Circles” with Ty Dolla Sign and Desiigner. King Push will follow the prelude (Darkest Before Dawn) and My Name Is My Name.
