Wale is significantly improving our Monday with his latest drop, "Black Is Gold."

The track finds him sharing an incredible freestyle and message over D'Angelo's classic "Lady" beat off the 1995’s Brown Sugar album. "Beautiful baby black is bold/Black is black, true/But Black is gold," he raps on the hook before celebrating black women exactly as they are. He also dropped a video for the song that spotlights some beautiful black women kicking back at his house with some wine and TV.

The DMV rapper has been delivering a steady release of new music recently including the Jake One-produced "Groundhog Day" as a response to J. Cole's "False Prophets." He also came through with a freestyle over Nas' "Nas Is Like" dubbed "Folarin Like" and followed it up with a sleek black and white visual that allowed him even more room to flex his lyrical muscles.

The recent releases are also a reminder that Wale has been cooking up his forthcoming album, S.H.I.N.E., although there is still no set date for the project. Sonically, I always want to push myself as an artist and I think S.H.I.N.E. is a big example of me pushing myself and trying new things," he told Complex back in March. "My fifth album is a reason to celebrate, and a lot of the music I’ve been making is very chill.  I'm singing—and I'm not singing to be the next Brian McKnight—I'm singing to enhance my songwriting ability and to evolve as an artist."

Fans got another glimmer of hope for some new Wale when a video surfaced online Sunday showing a behind-the-scenes look at Wale and Lil Wayne shooting a music video together. If you remember, the rapper's shared a clip of the track on Snapchat back in August.

We'll just have to stay locked in for any more news about the new album. For now, check out Wale's latest offering in the "Black Is Gold" video above.
