NxWorries, the duo consisting of Anderson .Paak and producer Knxwledge, has released their new single "Get Bigger / Do U Luv." The tune follows on the heels of last month's "Lyk Dis."
The song continues the funky, laid-back sound first heard on "Lyk Dis." The new song's name is divided in half for a reason: "Get Bigger" takes up most of the running time, while the "Do U Luv" section comes in as a mellow coda at the end.
The first verse of "Get Bigger" has .Paak recounting his struggles as an up-and-coming musician, and his corresponding desire to make it big. The highlight comes when he recounts the circumstances that led him to leave a particularly deadening day job: "Closing my eyes, visioning/Monte Carlos with tinted windows and balling legitimate/Opened up my eyes, I was in the same predicament/Next day I called in, said 'I quit'."
The second verse finds him choosing between a girlfriend and his music career ("She said, 'Music or me'/The f**k do you mean?/This ain't right"). Given that you're listening to the results, the choice he made seems apparent.
Listeners were excited about the tune, and anticipating the duo's upcoming album Yes Lawd!
