As Nick Jonas continues to build on his career as a budding superstar in music and film, he's looking to the right people for advice. He's only 23-years-old, but his accomplishments and success are only growing with age. "You never know what’s going to happen, but the goal is to build something that becomes equally as important as my career," Jonas says in his new Complex cover story. "Something that not only has value, but also matters to people, that really curates the moment."
One man who is making a major impression on Jonas and his career is none other than Jay Z. Jonas' relationship with Hov stems from a day they spent together at Made in America festival last summer. "Quality. That’s the key. Everything I do, I want it to have that stamp that people like Jay Z, for instance, have on all the things they touch," Jonas says. Hov's lasting impact on his career is still unwritten, but the building blocks are certainly there.
Jonas' manager's company, PhillyMack, recently partnered with Jay's Roc Nation imprint. Because of the connection, Jonas can now look to Jay when he needs guidance. "I’ll throw things off him when things come up, music-wise, or when trying to come up with a name for the tour,” Jonas says. “It’s amazing to have someone like him around. I’ve been incredibly fortunate with that. The partnership already is great.”
