It seemed Taylor Swift was doing everything in her power to avoid any negative headlines at this year's VMAs from squashing her semi-Twitter beef with Nicki Minaj on stage to closing the chapter on one of the most memorable VMA moments by introducing Kanye West's Video Vanguard award. With the focus primarily on the Nicki and Miley feud and Kanye's sporadic bid for president (that we now know was inspired by a fan in the audience), Taylor seemed to be in the clear.
Except there is one moment casting a hazy, potentially gross fog over the singer. With her Swift squad beside her, Taylor stood next to Sway and Kelly Osbourne at the VMA pre-show to debut the new video for her new single "Wildest Dreams." This time, it wasn't Kanye interrupting her but a suspecting noise that sounded off mid-squat as she introduced the video and found Hailee Steinfeld covering her nose. While an MTV spokesperson insists "MTV confirmed that the sound heard in the moment Taylor Swift introduced her new music video 'Wildest Dreams' was isolated to a production microphone. There was absolutely no possibility of it being Taylor or anyone in her party’s microphones picking up ambient sounds" according to The Mirror, it's hard not to LOL at the normally meticulous star.
