Killer Mike has been a vocal activist for over a decade, but it wasn't until the events of these past few years coupled with his renewed musical successes, notably with Run The Jewels, that his insights were finally recognized and his role as a leading commentator in hip-hop, celebrated. Throughout 2014 and the beginning of 2015, Mike has been the guest on a number of news programs and given lectures about the current social climate in America. On April 24th, he will give a lecture at MIT, for their "Hip=Hop Speaker Series," but he's going to have to catch the Red Eye to D.C. afterwards because he has to make it to his special dinner date on time.
Killer Mike has been invited to the coveted White House Correspondents' Dinner. Huffington Post invited the rapper, who will be mingling with some of the most powerful Washington media members and fellow artists, like Ciara and Gladys Knight. The dinner takes place this Saturday, April 25.
