Killer Mike will present a lecture about race relations in America to students as part of MIT’s new “Hip Hop Speaker Series” this Friday (April 24).

The Atlanta rapper, who is known to be hip-hop's leading voice in social commentary, has been vocal about issues surrounding the Ferguson Grand Jury decision and has discussed at length about race in the US with CNN. Earlier this year, he penned an insightful Op-Ed for Okayplayer on Martin Luther King Jr. For his lecture, topics such as Ferguson, to the SAE incident in Oklahoma, to white privilege and black empowerment will be included.

Recently, Run the Jewels released a video for their track “Close Your Eyes” (And Count to Fuck) that explored the severity of police brutality.
