Every once in a while you come across an artist that just grabs your ear drums and hold on for dear life. Wisconsin’s Noer The Boy has been doing that to me the last little bit—hopefully you paid attention when we hit you with six of his free tracks. Now if you’ve rinsed those out, today is your lucky day as we have Noer’s newest release, Spaceship. This new three-track EP has to be one of the wonkiest and wildest things I’ve heard in a flash. Fans of EPROM, Mr. Carmack, Bleep Bloop, and the like are going to love this one as it rattles with booming 808s, warbling manipulated vocal bits, bombastic brass horns, and an extraterrestrial swag unheard before. This new EP drives that idea home, and to the max. It’s only ten minutes long, but in those ten minutes you’ll be taken on a tour de force of whacky bass to smack you right in the face. This one is a free DL and it comes out through Noer The Boy’s label, Noh Life. Now Noh Life wasn’t technically founded by Noer, but he did give us a bunch of insight.

"Noh Life is a tight-knit label/collective/lifestyle based out of Milwaukee WI. We put out music that we love. The crew has known each other for quite a while, I've known them for a little over a year through meeting them at shows/on the internet. Then this fall Noh Life was launched and I was asked to be a part of it. It's my music family for sure. Our philosophy is all about spreading the sounds we love, while maintaining a tight-knit family feel - like in music, clothing, look. Right now, Noh Life is made up of Bokken, Dehku, Efkay, Fooki Wonton, Ian Ewing, Mr. Gat (formerly of TAGRM), Strehlow, Thangster, and myself. But yeah, we're all a group of friends who dig each other's music and love to do stuff together.”

As for the label’s name? Well Noer says this "Noh theatre, Noh also spelled No, traditional Japanese theatrical form and one of the oldest extant theatrical forms in the world. Noh—its name derived from nō, meaning “talent” or “skill”” So it seems that they see Noh-Life as a “theater” and If they’re putting out jams like this regularly, I want front row seats.
