MC Lyte is gearing to release her first studio album in 11 years sometime before 2015. Today, we're premiering the first release from her LP called "Dear John," featuring Common, which will be featured in her upcoming episode of "Being." MC Lyte gets introspective on the record, which starts out with her penning a letter, and adds a soulful verse from Common and a hook from 10Beats. The Loudbox-produced track is inspiring for all, but it's also the anthem for #EducateOURMen, a signature scholarship initiative of MC Lyte's Hip Hop Sisters Foundation. The foundation has previously presented two $100,000 university scholarships during the Soul Train Music Awards Red Carpet Pre-Show each year since it was founded.
