Steve Angello's Size Records imprint is celebrating its 10th birthday in style. The #DECADE movement has featured free tunes, a plethora of #DECADE nights, and a Size tour through North America, which kicked off this week. While most of you know the general story of how Size came to be, how much of the history of the label's moving parts are you up on? With the help of the roster, DAD presents 10 things that you didn't know about Size Records.
This tour consists of Max Vangeli, AN21, Third Party, and Qulinez
From what we're being told, some of these guys will hit all cities at once, while other stops include two artists, but hit the same club later in the month.
After 10 years of being a label, this is their first ever tour
Better late than never; but also, with all of the #DECADE celebrations going on, this is a great time to get the world recognizing this massive imprint.
Their New York spot is going to have the first ever "Swap"
All four artists will play two clubs in one night, Marquee and Lavo, swapping back and forth from club to club.
Set Times:
LAVO
12am-1am: Third Party
1am-2am: AN21
2am-3am: Qulinez
3am-4am: Max Vangeli
Marquee New York
12am-1am: Qulinez
1am-2am: Max Vangeli
2am-3am: Third Party
3am-4am: AN21
Size was started for one reason: no one wanted to release Steve's music
Steve told Dancing Astronaut in 2013 that the "[m]otivation to start my own label was because no one wanted to sign our music. We were brand new upcoming kids from Sweden and they were like ‘who are these fucking guys?’ That was the motivation, I was like ‘I’m just going to do it myself.’”
Size Records Released their entire catalog last weekend, via Google Play
If you snoozed, you lost; this was not only the history of Size, but it's a massive chunk of EDM history that was given away for free.
Since January 2014, the font used for all Size artwork is Trade Gothic Bold Extended
AN21 is Steve Angello's brother
How AN21 got his producer name
"Yeah, my name is very confusing... The whole story is from when I was a child and people couldn't pronounce my name as its French, so I started to say 'one two one'. So AN21 pronounces AN-TWO-ONE = Antoine."

There are other artists you may not know who had tracks released on Size
Including Afrojack, Deadmau5, Laidback Luke, and more.
Steve doesn't want Size artists to make records for him; he's more concerned with making the fans happy
Which is a great mentality to have, and gives producers more freedom than other outlets might have.
