Chicago-based singer The GTW is gearing up to release Chigeria later this year. The first song off that project is "Calling Cards," a mellow dance track that could just as easily pass as something you might have heard from the early '90s. It's an innocent record, with GTW singing "I can't spell my future with u" as if he was back in grade school attempting to serenade his sweetheart. "Calling Cards" builds upon what GTW has done with his group JODY, adding an uptempo flair that soon won't be forgotten. “I wrote the lyrics and layered the ‘So So Def’ bass-inspired beat," GTW says of the record. "It's an ode to one of my favorite Jahit Jamm (Strawberry Records) tracks."

The GTW will be performing at Grasslands on March 5 in New York for Tiombe Lockhart's single release party for "Can't Get Enough." Other performers for the night include Princess Nokia and Tomboy. Tickets and additional info can be found here.
