For anyone who's ever dreamed to see Ice Cube's name on the Goodyear Blimp, well, today is a good day.
Earlier this year, four friends were inspired to start The Good Day Blimp Project, a charity-based viral stunt to get Cube's name on the Goodyear Blimp. The crowd-sourced fundraiser asked fans to donate money for underprivileged kids at South Central, LA's A Place Called Home. The more money raised, the more likely Goodyear would honor the idea of blasting Ice Cube's name on the famed blimp.
Media took notice and so did the rapper. The charitable aspect excited Cube and he helped promote the campaign on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Goodyear got wind of it and the rest was history.
Above, you can watch a short documentary about the event created by Tool director Jason Zada.
