Jay Z's appearance on Drake's "Pound Cake" caught a lot of attention for a specific lyric the Brooklyn native rapped during his verse.
After saying he's, "Made more millionaires than the lotto did," Jay goes on to state that artists like Cam'ron, Kanye West and Just Blaze are a direct result to this claim. Cam'ron would dispute this on his latest track "Come and Talk to Me (Remix)" off his new mixtape Ghetto Heaven Vol. 1. "I had a mil before I met him, baby that ain't no lie," he raps over the slow grooves of a Jodeci remix.
In an interview with Karen Civil, Cam clarified his lyrics on Jay Z. "He said he made more millionaires than the lotto did, but I knew Jay when he didn’t have a million, when none of us had a million, when Dame[Dash] and them were on the come-up," he says. "I respect what all of us have done because I know where we all come from. But the way he put his lyrics [together] and made it seem like he made niggas money or put them in the place where they was supposed to be… He could’ve worded it like he helped niggas make more millions, instead of saying you made niggas millionaires."
