The 100 Best Hip-Hop One-Hit Wonders

61. The Skinny Boys "Jockbox" (1986)

Producer: Mark Bush, Chuck Chillout
Album: Weightless
Label: Warlock Records

Somewhat of a counterpoint to The Fat Boys, The Skinny Boys were a group out of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who released a few independent records before they hit big with "Jock Box," in 1986, on Warlock Records. The song was a human beatbox record, which would be unheard of now, but back then was a big thing in rap. The group eventually moved over to Jive Records, but never found the footing they had on their first LP, Weightless. Perhaps owing to its one-hit-wonder status, "Jock Box" is now the theme song to the Comedy Central show Workaholics.
