Before all of the awards, millions of albums sold, and taking the gig as the house band on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, The Roots were getting their start as a jazz-infused hip-hop group out of Philadelphia. And thanks to a YouTube user by the name of icestro, we're now seeing footage from their first concert ever back in December 1992 at the Painted Bride Art Center.

The six-minute video includes a slew of shots of the guys in their younger days, particularly the now-troubled Scott Storch who kills it on the keys here. You also get to watch former bassist Leonard Hubbard on the acoustic bass while Black Thought shares the mic with Malik B., who left the Roots in the early 2000s.

Note: Even though the above footage was uploaded last October, it only started making the rounds these past few days.
