Slim Dunkin, whose real name is Mario Hamilton, died Friday night after being shot during an altercation at an Atlanta record studio, according to WSB. He was 24.

Atlanta police said that the 1017 Brick Squad rapper was filming a music video at the studio when a shouting match turned violent. The other individual apparently pulled out a handgun and shot Dunkin in the chest. He died from the injuries later that night at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The police are apparently still investigating the shooting and haven't named a suspect at this time. You can watch WSB's full report on the incident here.

Dunkin leaves behind a slew of notable guest appearances on records by his Brick Squad associates and close friends, particularly Waka Flocka Flame. Dunkin most recently released his Menace II Society mixtape this past Halloween and is featured on several tracks on Gucci Mane and V-Nasty's new joint album, BAYTL.
