Album Preview: J. Cole "Cole World: The Sideline Story"

After releasing several acclaimed mixtapes—including the excellent The Warm Up and Friday Night Lights—J. Cole is finally dropping his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story. The Roc Nation signee held a private listening session in NYC on Wednesday and Complex was in the building. The tracklist isn’t finalized (and we were asked not to list song titles or quote lyrics), but Cole played the lion's share of what will become his debut. The album is slated to drop on September 27, so for now, hear our thoughts...

no dude.. hes right.. its 13. 7 is definitely the one he says is deep, like lost ones, but is about the family. 13 even says its about pregnancy...

Is he gonna talk about Jay-Z and worship that dude on every track?! OK we know you got signed by Jay Z dude. Why are you spending so much time on your album reminding us of that?

Exactly! Its kinda sad that J.Cole keeps referring to him, while Jay-Z wont hop on a track or officially co-sign him Ah-La Kanye/Big Sean. Bottom line is this.. J.Cole is mad talented and can spit BUT HE HAS NO STAR POWER.. He also needs to allow other producers to do some beats other than him. jussayin
