Oakland-native Kreayshawn responsible for the ever-so-catchy viral hit "Gucci Gucci" has reportedly signed a recording contract with Sony Music for a reported $1 million.
According to MissInfo.tv, a bidding war for the 21-year-old female spitter sparked after her video for "Gucci Gucci" went from an indie clip to "hipster sensation." For now, we're going to take her denying the rumored deal with a grain a salt. It's more than likely all part of her brilliant marketing plan.

Wow, this is sort of depressing. I mean, the song is very catchy, but more in the "enjoyable novelty" way than the "this is that next shit" way. I guess she's going to be the new M.I.A., where you pair a cute, fashionable girl of questionable talent with a bunch of hot club producers and watch the critics fall all over themselves. By the same token, I listened to the Waka Flocka album for the first time yesterday, and I genuinely wonder what nowadays qualifies someone to be a rapper. There really is no degree of rhythm, lyricism or songwriting ability needed to get a record deal, and it makes the genre as a whole feel sort of superfluous as a result.
