A South Carolina teen was arrested on forgery charges for allegedly faking doctor's notes to skip out on high school. The Duncan Police Department told WSPA that 17-year-old Madison Cox was arrested Monday. Last year Cox was crowned Miss Spartanburg International before being crowned Miss South Carolina Teen International.

According to Duncan Police, Cox, who goes to Byrnes High School, wrote herself doctor's notes to excuse herself from class using a pad from Parris Family Chiropractic located near Spartanburg.

Duncan Police also said Cox didn't visit the Parris Family Chiropractic on dates that she claimed in her notes. In fact, the office was actually closed on some dates.

Cox addressed her arrest and her unwanted newfound fame Wednesday in a now deleted tweet, saying, "Did they really just put me on the news BC I went to jail for a DOCTORS NOTE???"

Still not feeling the limelight (not to mention all of the people calling her out in her mentions) she followed up with even more tweets Thursday:

It's sad that I'm the only entertainment in y'alls lives 😭😂

I've got to learn to stop being so childish and keep my mouth closed 😂

The Duncan Police Department and Madison Cox didn't immediately respond to Complex's request for comment.

But on Tuesday Cox replied to a tweet and said the forgery charges against her had been dropped.

actually no they just had to keep me 24 hours because it's law my charges are dropped lol
