Unlike the teacher who showed photos of her boob job to students or this teacher who had sex with a student she met in a Christian training program a teacher was forced to resign for something out her hands. This teacher in South Carolina was forced to resign after a student stole a nude photo of hers and shared it on social media.

Union County High School teacher, 33-year-old Leigh Anne Arthur, teaches mechatronics, which Buzzfeed News writes is a "multidisciplinary field of engineering." It's there that Arthur got her nude photo stolen she tells Buzzfeed News. Arthur said on February 18 she left her cellphone, which doesn’t have a passcode, unattended on her desk while she stepped out to patrol the hall for a couple of minutes. Arthur recalls a student coming up to her at the end of class that day and saying, 'Your day of reckoning is coming.' Arthur said, "Kids being kids, I didn't think twice about it."

Arthur would find out what the student meant when hearing a nude photo of hers was being shared on social media. Arthur says she thinks the student, who was failing her class, may have taken a photo of her revealing photos to post them. Arthur says the photo was taken for her husband for Valentine's Day.

She told Buzzfeed News, "I felt mad and violated because that's my privacy. It definitely hurts."

To make matters worse a couple of days later she heard the district superintendent was asking for her resignation. She reportedly spoke to him asking why he wanted her resignation. Arthur said, "He told me it was because I had inappropriate material on my phone and that I had made it easily accessible to students."

Eubanks sent this statement to Buzzfeed News:

"One of the most critical responsibilities that a classroom teacher has is the supervision of students. In this particular case there was a breakdown in the classroom in that most critical area. Evidence and statements indicate that the teacher was not where she should have been at the time the incident occurred. As a result, a student accessed inappropriate material on her phone, sent it to others, and as a result also may also be severely punished by law enforcement as well as the school district. This is a case where a staff member, properly supervising students, could have prevented a very serious problem."

Arthur would oblige and resign February 24, but said she then tried to take it back the following day saying she had made an emotional decision.

Buzzfeed News reports authorities are investigating Arthur's case. Union City Police Chief Sam White told Buzzfeed News in an emailed statement, "The student's phone is in custody of law enforcement by means of a search warrant. The department has sent the phone to the State Law Enforcement Division for a forensic inspection of any data that relates to this report."

Arthur noted that the student hasn't been punished for his actions. Eubanks said the student's punishment would depend on what law enforcement found.

For her part, Arthur says she isn't to blame. "I know I haven't broken any laws. I stand by what I did," she told Buzzfeed News. "We all have inappropriate images on our phone. It's OK to be involved in a passionate relationship with your husband."

Arthur's right. Why would the student get off the hook when the student was the one that chose to take Arthur's property and chose to invade her privacy before knowingly distributing private photos of her?

A petition to get Arthur's job back has been created with 2,300 signing so far.
