Mexican town will celebrate Easter by setting Trump statue on fire

The GOP candidate is subbing in for Judas this year.

Among Catholics in Mexico, it's an Easter tradition to hang and burn a figure of Judas, the man who betrayed Jesus in the Biblical account. This year, one Mexican town is replacing Judas with someone they apparently disdain more: GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.

As tradition dictates, the town of León will burn its Judas-Trump figure over Easter weekend:

According to David Agren, a journalist reporting in Mexico, the statue will be set ablaze in the most glorious fashion—by being stuffed with fireworks.

This isn't the first time Mexicans have showed their hatred for Trump by destroying his likeness. After the billionaire called Mexicans "drug dealers and rapists" in his campaign announcement speech, Trump piñatas became very popular in the country.

There's technically a law on the books in Mexico which dictates that effigies can't resemble a real person, but no one seems to have a problem with making Trump the exception.
