Looks like someone beat Drake to the punch. The rapper reportedly told Walgreens to either "chill or cut the check" after they began selling shirts bearing the phrase popularized by his hit single "The Motto." However, a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, FL has held the trademark to the phrase since 2010.
Tim Petrillo, who's the co-owner the YOLO Restaurant, trademarked the term back in 2010. After hearing about Drake's fall back or pay up claims, Petrillo replied "I think Drake saying that is such a joke." Drake is already beyond paid, but just wait until all of this ends up in a verse.
