In July, Lady Gaga announced that the release of her album ARTPOP would include "an evening of artRave exhibiting Haus of Gaga's projects as well as collaborations with Inez & VinoodhRobert WilsonMarina Abramovic, and Jeff Koons." On Monday, Gaga unveiled her Koons-designed album cover in Times Square. The same day, the Washington Post published an article revealing that Robert Wilson is working on a "video portrait" of the pop star.

Avant-garde king Wilson is most famous for his 5-hour opera with Philip Glass, "Einstein on the Beach." This December, he will be directing "The Life and Death of Marina Abramovic" at the Park Avenue Armory, a "quasi-opera" about the performance artist's life where Queen Marina will play herself alongside Willem Dafoe.

From pictures of the of the Watermill Benefit Center (like the one above), where Wilson, Abramovic, and Gaga were seen arm-in-arm-in-arm, we aren't surprised that the the artists are all collaborating in some way. This summer, Lady Gaga stripped down in the woods to practice the "Abramovic Method."

We're curious to see what Wilson's video portrait will look like—this is the man who helped invent postmodern theater, after all. Also, this isn't the first time Wilson worked with Gaga. In August, he designed the set for her MTV VMAs performance.

In an interview with Just Jared at the end of August, Lady Gaga talked about Wilson's work as one of her influences: "But I’ll tell you I’ve been obsessing over stuff from the '70s like performance art theater. Especially because I’m working with Robert Wilson, who’s doing the lighting and the set for the VMAs. He’s a theatrical legend! I know, I’m super exciting. You know, you should just write 'NERD' really big across my face."
