Works with: Element (formerly New Deal, Anti Hero, Real, Stereo)
Todd Francis has been making board graphics since 1993, including some of the best Anti Hero graphics in the late ’90s, but he has not lost any steam and has powered straight through the 2000s. As an Element Advocate, Francis has been integral in turning around that brand's art department. Element is now known for his clean and stylized nature motifs.

You seem to have confused me (richard "french" Sayer with Matt French.... a totally different guy.

Hey French. Thanks for the heads up. You were definitely the artist I was aiming for, though the sources for those other graphics were a bit misleading so we fixed it. Great stuff, keep killing it!

Great list. I enjoy skateboarding alot. And yes it seemed like in the 90's the art of the design and brand of the skateboard exploded. And was just as important has skateboarding itsef in it's own way. I had a ball seeing all the different combnations of boards, brands, trucks and wheels. I liked Alien Workshop designs alot. And stereo and some others I can't remember. And they had to go with any color combination truck, and then any color combination or design wheel. It was alot of fun, great to see some awome desgns out there.

for you to not include evan hecox, ben horton, or winston tseng in this list is a shame.
Eby Ghafarian December 15th, 2010 at 09:08 AM
Perhaps, but it is all subjective. There are a ton of great artists and this list could easily be twice as long, but I wanted to focus on the standout artists now. Evan Hecox was a consideration, but he was on top of his came 5-10 years ago, and isn't doing many stand out graphics these days, comparatively. If this list was compiles even a couple years ago, it would be very different.

Also I feel like the comparison of Pushead to Neckface is a bit of stretch not to dis Neckface, but I just don't really see much similarity in styles
