One unnamed donor in Chicago graciously agreed to pay for a homeless community to stay in a hotel while the city rides out the polar vortex.

The polar vortex, a low-pressure mass of cold air over the Arctic, is headed towards the U.S., bringing with it the coldest temperatures of the year.
