As someone who only wants to enjoy video games as the creators intended, it's at times difficult to have discussions with gamers who feel the need to boast their knowledge of all things gaming. We get it, you were able to finish Halo 4 in a day and you know the birthdays of all the developers at Blizzard. There's no need to make the rest of us feel inadequate just because we devote every minute we're awake to figuring out how many pixels are in a Street Fighter hadouken fireball.

That said, let's take a look at these 10 Signs You Are A Video Game Snob and hopefully, you won't share any of the mentioned traits.

You Hate Every Sequel

Before a demo even makes it to the public, a video game snob will wax obnoxious of how the developers got lazy, the publisher has run out of ideas and how most gamers are sheep for only mainstream titles. Even with all the naysaying, the sequel will make it to your favorite snob's collection along with an explanation of how they wanted to play just to see how awful it was.

You Know Precisely How Long A Video Game Is

All you wanted to know was if it's a long video game or not and this know-it-all gives you an exact number down to the seconds. To further annoy you, the video game snob will go on to tell you the lenghth of the game with and without side missions or quests.

You Own A Pair Of Expensive Gaming Headphones

Gaming headsets are the video game accessory of choice this year but that doesn't stop the obnoxious show-offs from one-upping you by breaking out a pair of cans that costs more than a console. Get a grip, an explosion in Black Ops 2 sounds the same on a pair of headphones for a third of the price.

It Angers You When Someone Refers To Link As Zelda

One of the things that burns video game snobs to a crisp is calling a character out of its name. The worst offense is calling one Nintendo's most populare characters Link, Zelda. Yes, yes Zelda is the name of the princess you're saving but is it really that serious? You knew who we were talking about.

You Post Photos Of You Beating A Game Before Anyone Else Has It

While we regular folks bask in the glory of picking up the latest anticipated release, there is a snobbish jerk who has gotten an early copy and beaten it. Wait until the next big video game release and check your tweets, Instagram or Facebook timeline. You'll see their posted photo of the ending credits with a declaration of them playing the game again on the hardest mode.

Every Indie Game Is Awesome

To win the heart of a video game snob, the game's creator must be a part of a team of no more than six people and the company's name should be something really quirky. Naming the game with one word will also score big points with the snob mob. So if you're planning on releasing a video game in the near future, Mountain by Dookie Doo Games is up for grabs.

You Go To GameStop Only To Argue With The Employees

Just because you know the back history of a random non-playable character in your favorite game means that the woman who just asked if you need help wants hear about it. Even less everyone else waiting in line to buy their games and go home.

Any Game Not On A Console Sucks

Never ever mention that you like Angry Birds or Farmville to a video game snob. They will react like you just smacked their mother. Instantly, you'll be banished to the the world of "casual gamer" and nothing you say will ever have merit. Video game snobs believe that any game played on anything other than a console or gaming computer is unworthy of mention.

You Only Play PC Games

It's true that video games on a PC look better than their console counterparts but video game snobs don't care about that. To them the W,A,S,D keys on a keyboard gives them a sense of superiority over us controller holding primates.

All Of Your Wardrobe And Accessories Have Video Game Company Logos On Them

Everyone loves free stuff but only a true video game snob feels the need to wear a company's logo at every chance. Forget about a Nintendo messenger bag or a PlayStation baseball cap. A snob goes for super limited edition portfolio case from a developer that you've never heard of and flaunts it with the hopes that someone asks where it's from.
