Most of the time, video games based off movies suck. Sure, there are some exceptions out there (Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, to name a couple). But let’s face it: most movie-to-game translations are ridonkulously bad.
So, with this list, we have one specification—if these games WERE ever made, they would have to be handled with the most delicate care. So no Total Recall crap jobs, people. With that said, on with our list.

So, with this list, we have one specification—if these games WERE ever made, they would have to be handled with the most delicate care. So no Total Recall crap jobs, people. With that said, on with our list.
Paranormal Activity
Paranormal Activity
Type of Game: Point and Click Adventure
Remember Night Trap for the Sega CD? Well, if you don’t (and you’re lucky if you don’t), the game consisted of you switching cameras in a house to find the villains who were lurking about. This function would work well in a game based off the spooky Paranormal series, as you could check around a house with various cameras and try to locate the ghost (or “Toby,” as he’s now called) before it decimates the family. We’re not really sure what would happen next, but it could work in the right hands. It could. Think about it.
Heat
Heat
Type of Game: First Person Shooter
We see this property sort of like the new game, Payday: The Heist. What would separate this game from that one though is the ability to have full scale street gun battles, as seen in the awesome film. Add in an engrossing storyline, with the option to play either the cop or the robber, and you have a hit on your hands. Now how come this game hasn’t already been made?
Battle Royale
Battle Royale
Type of Game: First-Person Shooter
If you don’t know Battle Royale, then we’re no longer friends. Basically, a bunch of kids from a Japanese school are drugged and taken to an island where they’re forced to kill each other until there’s only one person standing. The series The Hunger Games is pretty much a direct rip-off of it. So, what we’d want with this game is a first-person shooter, deathmatch style where you’d have to be the last person on the map.
But here’s there's a catch, and it's what would make this game so awesome. As in the movie, novel, and manga, there’s no telling what weapon you might start off with. You could get a crossbow, a submachine gun, or even a fork. And you’d have to plan your attacks accordingly. Sure, maybe it couldn’t be a WHOLE game, but a downloadable one, no doubt. Good God, we want this game NOW.
A Clockwork Orange
A Clockwork Orange
Type of Game: Stealth/Sandbox game
We could see this game going in a lot of different directions. First off, Rockstar would have to make it, no question (hey, they made The Warriors). Secondly, the game would have to be a very open-ended experience, as the droogs need some room to cause their mischief (and felonies).
Thirdly, we don’t want the game to be all over the place, so there need to be SOME restrictions so it’s not one big mess (we’re thinking, sneaking into people’s homes and doing some very bad things). Fourthly, it has to have a slammin’ Beethoven soundtrack. And finally, it has to be awesome. Okay, got all that, Rockstar? Now get to work.
The Sting
The Sting
Type of Game: Shenmue Type/gambling
Believe it or not, The Sting could actually be a really cool title. The name of the game is grifting, and the whole game would consist of you hustling people and acquiring friends along the way to make the perfect score, which would boil down to preparation and strategizing. We’re not exactly sure how it would all be pulled off, but it could be. It could.
Full Metal Jacket
Full Metal Jacket
Type of Game: Olympic games style button masher/over the shoulder, Gears of War shooter
ANOTHER Stanley Kubrick movie? But of course. Full Metal Jacket, in truth, is two separate films. There’s the first half, which is the boot camp section, and then the second half, which is the war itself. And thinking about it, we see the game playing out as two separate games, too.
The first half would be like those old Olympic NES titles where you have to pound buttons to get to the end. In this section, you’d be Private “Pyle” and would have to try to keep up with the rest of the soldiers by mashing the buttons and rockin’ the D-pad. No matter how well you play though, you still lose and wind up shooting yourself on the shitter in the end. Game over, man, game over.
The second part of the game would play like Gears of War, dodging gunfire as Private “Joker” is trying to survive hell. Hey, it HAS to be better than this.
Tokyo Gore Police
Tokyo Gore Police
Type of Game: Action Adventure, a la No More Heroes
Tokyo Gore Police is balls out crazy. There’s a woman with a vagina monster, a guy with a penis gun, and a final boss (yes, we’ll call him a final boss) who flies around with bloody stump rockets. How is this NOT a game already? We see this game as being very much like No More Heroes, with you slashing enemies to bits until you get to the “engineers,” at the end of each level. The game practically makes itself.
Kill Bill
Kill Bill
Type of Game: Bushido Blade type Fighter
At one time, it was rumored that there actually WAS going to be a Kill Bill video game. So, whatever happened to that? Well, whatever DID happen, what we’d like to see is a game sort of like Bushido Blade where you run around the screen and attack with one death kills or strategized attacks.
You could pick Beatrix Kiddo, Bill, or any of the other Deadly Viper Assassination Squad to engage in mortal c(k)ombat. So that means, Michael Madsen could finally get some real combat time in (we’re STILL pissed he was killed off so quickly in the second film).
Big Trouble in Little China
Big Trouble in Little China
Type of Game: Beat ‘em up
Fact, there already IS a Big Trouble in Little China game, but it looks like this. So yeah, it’s balls. What there NEEDS to be though is a modern version of the game on PSN or XBox Live Arcade where you could walk down the screen, Streets of Rage style, and bash some skull in as Jack Burton, Wang Chi, or Egg Shen. They would fight the Wing Kong, the Three Storms, and, finally, Lo Pan himself. We’ll buy this game RIGHT NOW. So somebody make it already.
Inception
Inception
Type of Game: ?
As soon as we saw this movie, we wanted it to be a game. Stair warping, hopping from dreams within dreams within dreams, and battling rich kid’s sons who militarize their dreams, would be the greatest game, well, ever. But we’re not exactly sure WHAT genre we would want to see it in. What we do know, is that we want the developers of the game to be just as creative as Christopher Nolan was with the film.
And if we had to choose a dream developer, it’d have to be Shigeru Miyamoto. We mean, he’s already half way there with the physics in Super Mario Galaxy. Now, he’d just have to push it even further. Come ON, Miyamoto, we want this game. Pretty PLEASE.
