Kanye West will not unveil his Yeezy Season 6 collection at Paris Fashion Week. An alleged photo of the coveted Season 6 invite was shared by @thebusinessfashion on Instagram Wednesday, prompting multiple reports claiming that a PFW debut was imminent.
However, a Yeezy rep has since confirmed to Complex that there is currently no show scheduled for PFW. The Business Fashion, a UK-based provider of luxury brands and contemporary streetwear from designers all over the world, has not provided additional details regarding its Instagram post.
Back in July, Women's Wear Daily reported that West would once again return to New York Fashion Week for his Season 6 presentation. At the time, West was said to be in talks with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) about securing a date on the NYFW calendar.
Rumors also circulated that the show had been canceled following an initially scheduled date of Sept. 13 during NYFW, but a subsequent report from E! News questioned the date's validity. According to the report, West's show had never officially been on the schedule.
Prior to launching the Yeezy line, West debuted a women's collection—DW by Kanye West—during PFW in 2011. Though the inaugural show received largely negative reviews, West's followup in 2012 fared much better. West's first Yeezy Season collection was launched in 2015 during NYFW. Each subsequent collection has also been shown during NYFW, until now.
West is also working on new music. In addition to whatever he and Kid Cudi were spotted working on over the summer, he's also handling production on G.O.O.D. Music boss Pusha T's King Push. As for when we can expect Yeezy Season 6, maybe West is planning something completely outside of the usual fashion week framework.
