Lester Hudson was cut just months after being drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2009. During his time there, though, he received invaluable mentorship, and a whole lot more, from Kevin Garnett.
Hudson recently told the story of when Garnett took him shopping at the Louis Vuitton store. "He told me to pick out whatever I wanted," Hudson tells Basketball Insiders. According to Hudson, Garnett even started offering up suggestions, telling the rookie to get a scarf because it's cold in Boston. Hudson ended up getting "a couple scarves, skullies, a backpack, shoes, belts." I think [Garnett] just got me everything," he says. Garnett probably should've kept the style tips to himself, though.
Hudson reveals that to this day, he doesn't use the backpack Garnett bought for him. Instead, he keeps it at home as a keepsake. "I talk about it all the time," he says.
Hudson recently returned to the NBA, after playing several seasons in China, on a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.
