We already heard rumors about Rihanna designing a collection for Puma, and now that news has been confirmed and then some. The seven-time Grammy Award winner and CFDA’s Fashion Icon laureate has been just been named creative director of the sportswear giant, overseeing the women's vertical.

As part of a multi-year partnership with brand, Rihanna “will work with Puma to design and customize classic Puma styles as well as create new styles to add to the Puma product portfolio,” the company said on Tuesday. Her portfolio will include apparel as well as shoes. She will also act as the company’s global brand ambassador, joining Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt and football star Mario Balotelli in the position, as well as star in Puma’s ad campaign for fall 2015.

Rihanna arrived in Herzogenaurach, Germany, on Monday for her first creative session with the design team, and of course she had to share her excitement with her 14.1 million Instagram followers. Just this morning she posted photos of herself in the backseat of a car, wearing a pair of white leather sneakers with a thick black creeper sole and hashtagging #puma and #germany on her photos. Could this be the first glimpse of what's to come from Rihanna x Puma? We'll have to wait and see.

UPDATE: Rihanna just posted a few more snaps of her time at Puma HQ, including a shot of her posing in front of a wall mural paying tribute to Puma's #ForeverFaster campaign and featuring footballer Marta Vieira da Silva. She also revealed what looks to be the official logo for the Rihanna x Puma collab.
