visvim’s “Indigo Camping Trailer” installation, previously exhibited in Paris, is setting up camp for the first time in the U.S. at New York City’s Dover Street Market. From Sept. 6 to 9, the flea market ran out of a literal camping trailer, a restored 1948 Boles Aero, will be selling an exclusive collection of its natural indigo, and patchwork-inspired garments.

The collection is inspired by Japanese “kofu” patchwork and includes entirely new and unique pieces from visvim designer Hiroki Nakamura. The collection includes menswear and unisex items, plus two men’s shoes. If the trailer’s previous stops are any indication, there will be a selection of paisley down jackets, noragis, heavy denim jackets, chore coats, and a slew of accessories.

Nakamura first created Indigo Camping Trailer as a response to uniformed and impersonal commercial shopping centers. The website complains that the result is “less variety around town” to shop at. And while Nakamura admits, “the idea of a flea market is very natural in the U.S.” he told WWD that Indigo Camping Trailer is “a re-interpreted version."

The installation is a must-see, even if you don't plan on copping anything. Just check out the amazing shots Tommy Ton captured at the first iteration of Indigo Camping Trailer.
