Mehruss Jon Ahi and Armen Karaoghlanian are the masterminds behind Interiors Journal, an online publication that examines the use of architectural space in films and movies and a little TV. By breaking down movie scenes and translating them into architectural blueprints, offering anyone a chance to recreate iconic scenes from movies aerially. Though they come from different backgrounds—Ahi is a project designer at BCA Architects and Karaoghlanian is a filmmaker—together, their interests collide into this deconstructive project, where each issue of their journal focuses on just one film. Beyond the renderings, they offer detailed essays and interviews with directors, all exploring the use of space in films. Check out some of their renderings above, and get more issues of the publication on their website.
