The Bad Luck Brian meme was originated in January 2012 when someone posted this nerdy-looking photo to Reddit with the caption, "Takes driving test. Gets first DUI." The first Bad Luck Brian meme only got five votes, but a few hours later another meme of the same photo was posted with the caption, "Tries to stealthily fart in class. Shits." This meme subsequently amassed 3,000 votes over the next two months and eventually turned Brian into an Internet sensation. We do feel pretty horrible for whoever's school photo this is in real life, because there was never a time when the sweater vest was considered cool (or was there?).
