LeBron James on Why He Could Never Be a Coach: 'I Don’t Have the Patience’

So much for seeing head coach LeBron James in the future.

Could coaching be in the future for LeBron James once he's done playing basketball? Memphis Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale doesn't see it happening. "He would kill somebody," Fizdale said. "Perfection is like [his standard]. He wants perfection. I could see him actually owning his own team and doing something like that, but I think [as a coach], he would end up killing a player at some point because they wouldn’t live up to the expectations that he would set forth."

Oddly enough, James himself doesn't see it either. Prior to Sunday's shootaround, LeBron was asked about the possibility of becoming a coach one day, and he quickly shot down the idea. "I don't have the patience," James explained. "No, no. I can't even coach my own sons' teams, so I know I can't coach some guys I don't know. I can't do it."

In the last couple of years, James has given us a glimpse into what he could focus his attention when he hangs it up for good. From orchestrating a deal with Warner Bros. to help develop movies and TV shows to to his lifetime sneaker deal with Nike, James already has plenty on his plate, in addition to playing the game of basketball, while setting himself up quite nicely for life after the NBA. So much so that becoming a coach is probably the furthest thing from his mind at this point.

Hopefully, James has more patience for the people in those fields.
