If you haven't been reading about what's going on down in Houston, do yourself a favor and check this out. A large portion of the city is underwater as a result of torrential rains that have fallen over the last 24 hours or so. Some Rockets fans even got stranded at the Toyota Center after Monday's Warriors/Rockets game and had to spend the night waiting out the bad weather.

It definitely doesn't seem like something you'd want to joke about, right? Right. But for whatever reason, 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took to Instagram earlier today and put up a really insensitive post featuring a photo of the flooding along with the hashtag #Houston. Kaepernick has taken to using the hashtag #7tormsComing to try and prove that he's going to stir things up in the NFL next season. And for whatever reason, he decided to use the Houston floods as an opportunity to further his cause. Here's the post he put up:

1.

What the hell was he thinking here? Fortunately, he took the post down almost immediately. He also apologized for it on Twitter:

2.

No disrespect intended! Prayers up!

But this was a confusing thing for him to do. Why did he think it would be OK?

Update:

Kaepernick later followed up with a second (more in-depth) tweet:
