When asked whether or not he's one of the league’s “greatest unknowns,” Cam Newton gave himself a pretty rave review.

For every couple of instances where Cam Newton shows that he's a real stand-up guy, there is going to be that one moment where he just makes you shake your head. Recently, Newton spoke with Morgan Fogarty of WCCB-TV in Charlotte for a one-on-one interview. During their conversation, Fogarty brought up this dichotomy when discussing the Carolina Panthers quarterback. On one hand, he's considered to be one of the most talented players in the league today. But he's also been seen as what Morgan refers to as "the NFL's greatest unknown."

When asked if he agrees with that assessment, here's how Newton responded:

"Absolutely not. And I say this with the most humility, but I don't think nobody has ever been who I'm trying to be. Nobody has the size, nobody has the speed, nobody has the arm strength, nobody had the intangibles that I've had. I'm not saying that to say I'm a one-on-one type of person that this league will never see another. No, I'm not saying that. Hear me out. I'm just saying that so much of my talents have not been seen in one person."

Now, for those individuals who feel like Newton is too arrogant, these remarks (when taken the wrong way) will only add more fuel to the fire. However, after hearing him out—which is what he's asking people to do here—you can see what he's trying to say. There aren't many quarterbacks who come in with a 6-foot-5, 245-pound frame and can do what Cam can do out on the field. When you take all those things into account, it is true that nobody has ever been who he's trying to be.
