After being accused of sexually assaulting another Florida State University student in December of 2012, Jameis Winston has been found not guilty of violating the FSU conduct code according to his attorney David Cornwell.

In a letter sent to all parties involved in the case former Florida State Supreme Court Chief Justice Major Harding said that “The preponderance of the evidence has not shown that you are responsible for any of the charge violations of the Code. Namely, I find that the evidence before me is insufficient to satisfy the burden of proof.”

Winston had not answered questions about the alleged assault during the hearing, but had instead read a five-page statement in which he declared his innocence. The accuser can appeal the ruling any time between now and January 13, although it’s unclear if she will at this time.

Winston now appears clear to play in the Rose Bowl against Oregon on New Year’s Day, with the winner advancing to the National Championship Game.
