NBA Reportedly Planning on Extending All-Star Break to One Week

The NBA may be looking to extend the All-Star Break by a couple more days.

The NBA All-Star Break could be getting a little longer as soon as this year. As the league crafts the upcoming schedule—which isn't expect to be released until August—for this upcoming season, they are putting the model into place of increasing the break in mid-February to one full week. As a result, each team will need to play one or two more back-to-back sets. Commissioner Adam Silver has already  reportedly broached the subject with players and considering that The Association is moving forward with the proposal, the reception must've been favorable.

Meanwhile, the league has also thrown around the idea of starting the 2015-16 season earlier to accommodate the week-long break, but that isn't getting much traction since next year's preseason schedule has already been determined.
