You ever feel like the NBA starts to get boring between Christmas and St. Patrick's Day? Well new commissioner Adam Silver may spice-up that lag with a mid-season tournament similar to the ones that club soccer teams participate in.

Silver said the NBA is considering a mid-season tournament, possibly in Las Vegas.

One idea is that the four teams with the best records would play a single-elimination style tournament. None of the games, however, would count on the standings. You got to ask yourself, what's the point? When someone tears an ACL, people are going to question meaningless competition for exhibition games. That's of course, if that's the direction they're looking to go. Without anything concrete, it's really just speculation at the moment.
