When cars stop production, they not only start to disappear because they're no longer being made, they also start to dwindle, thanks to people realizing the importance of the ones they already own, causing them to put them away in hiding.

"U.O.E.N.O" rapper Rocko doesn't have his Maybach 57s locked away somewhere, but news that the company folded did lead to him keeping the luxury car, rather than selling it, which he was about to do. Rocko recently came through the Complex office to catch up, and we were able to have a conversation with him about his cars and what it's like owning a Maybach, including how much it would cost if he were ever to get in an accident. Here's a snippet from the interview (the rest is for a future project):

What cars do you have now?

"I haven't really been into cars like that. I been focusing on staying gone, because if you stay gone, you can't really drive your cars, unless you take them with you. But, as far as my collection right now, I have a '69 Camaro that I hadn't driven in I don't know how many years. I have a 2011 Rolls-Royce, and I got a Maybach. Everything else is a company car, like cadillac trucks and vans, you know, cars we use for the road and touring. I got two of those GMCs, the Savana, those conversion vans ... I got a Cadillac truck, the Range Rover, stuff like that."

What's it like owning a Maybach?

"It's crazy, because I was going to sell it. I don't even drive the cars I have now. But then I found out they don't make them anymore, so I just decided to keep it. It's paid for, so, I was like, 'I'm just going to keep it.' It's crazy, because I had it in Miami. I had it at this shop that my friend owns. And he was like, 'yeah, man, I just had to order a grille for a car just like yours. $17,000.' I was like, 'HUH?' He said, 'yeah, man, just the grille is $17,000. He said the bumper was $10,000. And each headlight was $5,000. That's crazy. And then he said you have to wait a few months for it to even come. It's crazy."

Let us recap:

MAYBACH GRILLE: $17,000
MAYBACH BUMPER: $10,000
MAYBACH HEADLIGHT: $5,000

So, there you have it. For all those people out there who only have $400,000 and think they can afford a Maybach, think again. You're forgetting about insurance, maintenance, and the repairs you're inevitably going to have to do, because somebody in a shitty car without any cash will surely cause an accident with your multi-hundred-thousand-dollar car.
